October 28, 2022, Updates:

  • Our Remembrance page has unfortunately been updated to include the recent passing of Alma Forster and Shari Plocher. May they rest in peace.

​

  • On behalf of the Class of 1972, our 50th Reunion committee purchased an engraved brick from the A+ Foundation for West Aurora Schools. It will be installed sometime next spring in the "Pathway of Honor" at WAHS and bears the inscription:

October 19, 2022, Updates:

  • Now that fond memories of our 50th Reunion are etched in our heads, there's still much going on. For instance, we've decided to look into organizing an annual casual gathering to be held the Friday of WAHS's Homecoming Week. Details will be announced next summer. So please help us keep your, and your fellow classmate's, contact information up to date!

​

  • We had a great time at all the events and have the pictures to prove it!​ The photos in our new Photo Gallery have been tagged. ​We also plan to import and tag all the pictures posted by our professional photographer over the next couple of weeks. â€‹If you would like to add to our collection, please email your photos to us at info@wahsclassof72.org.

​

  • Our Donations page has been updated to include our latest donations and sponsorships. We can't thank everyone enough for all their generous support. All proceeds from our Silent Auction went to support the John W. McDougal M.A.C. Scholarship fund. This fund was created in memory of John W. McDougal by his family. It supports the McDougal Athletic Character Award, which is awarded to male athletes from West Aurora High School. If you wish to know more about this fund and possibly make a donation, please visit the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley website.

  • Finally! Pictures from all our reunion activities have begun to appear in our new Photo Gallery! ​We've gathered together many pictures from Thursday's Homecoming Parade through to our Saturday evening 50th Reunion Gala. ​If you would like to add to our collection, please email your photos to us at info@wahsclassof72.org. We hope everyone had a great time at all the events. Our entire reunion team truly enjoyed putting it all together and hope to see everyone again soon!

  • Our Remembrance page has unfortunately been updated to include Diane McDade, Ted Saum, and Larry Franklin. May they rest in peace.

  • The time to register for our Sat evening 50th Reunion gala has come and gone. But there's still time to get in on some fun at our other supporting events with no registration or payment required! See our Activities pages for all the details.

  • We've added a limited amount of assorted pizzas to be provided throughout the evening at our Friday evening gathering at Oak St.!

​

  • Our Donations page has been updated to include our latest donations and sponsorships.

  • Sad news. We received word another classmate left us too soon. Ann (Klespitz) Ortner passed away in 2018.

​

  • Our Activities page has been updated to include the Homecoming Parade on Thursday, September 29 at 3pm, and the student-guided tour of our old alma mater at noon on Saturday, October 1st. More details including how to participate in either or both activities are still in the works and will be posted soon.

  • TWO NEW EVENTS have been added to our reunion weekend! We've accepted an invitation to represent our class in the WAHS Homecoming Parade on Thursday, September 29 at 3pm. We've also arranged for a student-guided tour of our old alma mater on Saturday, October 1st at noon. More details including how to participate in either or both activities will be announced soon.

  • Only 45 days until our 50th Reunion main event! Have you registered yet? If not, please go to our Registration page and get signed up. The deadline for registration has been pushed back a bit to September 15th with payments still due by September 15th. We hope to see everyone there!

  • A brief summary of our reunion events has been added to our Home page. This allows you to see at a glance all the planned activities without having to go to our Activities page.

July 10, 2022, Updates:

  • We have received word of two more classmates who have passed on - Kay Brown and Arlene Anderson. Along with Susan Jennings who passed last week, we have now lost 100 classmates. May they all rest in peace.

​

July 3, 2022, Updates:

  • The excitement is building as we are now only 90 days from our 50th reunion on October 1st! Venues are reserved and all the numerous details are being finalized for our Friday evening casual gathering, our Saturday morning golf outing and, of course, our Saturday evening reunion celebration! So even if you indicated you plan to attend on either of the event pages on Facebook or Classmates, you must submit your official registration on this website. Already registered? Please don't forget to submit your payment in full by 9/15/2022. We can't wait to see everyone again!

  • Don't forget, we have a new venue secured for our Friday evening casual get-together! Oak St. Restaurant & Bar has replaced the shuttered Luigi's Pizza. See more info here. We hope to see you there even if you cannot attend our main event on Saturday. And feel free to bring a friend or two!

​

  • A new page has been added featuring several classmates' quips from our 1972 EOS. Very enlightening!

  • If for whatever reason you will not attend our reunion on Oct 1, we'd like to know that too. Simply pop an email to info@wahsclassof72.org or drop us a note using our "Contact Us" form. Once we're informed, we can drop you from future email notifications if you wish.

  • Luigi's Pizza is closing permanently June 26, 2022! You can read about it here. The closing of this Aurora institution is, in and of itself, sad enough. But now we need to find a new venue for our Friday, Sep 30 casual gathering and we're working on securing a suitable location. If you have any suggestions, please submit them to info@wahsclassof72.org.

  • Our Remembrance page has unfortunately been updated to include Jane Bailey, Gary Barton, Johanna "Jana" (Oakes) Doig, Mark Lumbert, Linda (Rogers) Higginbottom, and Roger Swindle. May they rest in peace.

  • Numerous classmates have been listed on our Still Missing page. Please look it over to see if you can help us contact anyone listed there. And come back often as it most likely will be updated once as we receive more "undeliverable" messages.​

​

  • Donation Levels have been added to our Donations page.

  • Due to unforeseen circumstances, plus a tad bit of procrastination, the updates originally scheduled for today will now appear on April 11.

  • We are now on Instagram. There's not much there now, but we hope to add much more.

  • We've added this "Update" page to list all the new and/or updated items on our website and provide links to the new associated information. This page will be updated periodically - so stay tuned.

  • Information regarding the Saturday, October 1st Golf Outing has been updated here.

​

  • Friday evening festivities have also been updated. You can find the Homecoming game info here, and the casual gathering here.

​​

  • "Contact Us" is now separate from the Home page. The link can be found in the header of all pages.

​

  • Our Remembrance page was recently amended to include eight more classmates who are no longer with us. RIP Chuck Feldman, Mike Gaither, Tom Japuntich, Mike Moser, Michele (Mosher) Mulvaney, Craig Nelson, Gary Norks, and Jim Spencer.

​

  • 1972 Trivia now features selections from Seek Publishing's book Remember When - 1972.​

​

  • An "FAQ" page has been added but is only available on your PC for now. It will be updated to answer all your questions as they arise.
